She's on the way

Well, my new little girl should be here soon. She's made it to Houston and is ready for delivery. You realize I'm talking about my Gypsy right? Stalking the UPS guy now. Last time I was expecting a package he arrived at 7:03 pm. I'm so excited. I'm planning on video taping the opening so who knows maybe I can get it posted. We'll see.
Have a great day.

Gypsy

Well, I did it. I went ahead and ordered the Gypsy. I should have it Friday. I got a new customer coupon so I saved almost $45.00. That pretty much covered 2 day shipping and tax. I just couldn't wait. I'll have it before my Disney trip next week. My husband will be happy I'm not gonna gripe when he watches football in the hotel room at night. I'll be playing with my Gyspy.
When I get back, I'll start working on Videos and stuff.

27 Ladies SWARM the day away

We had a blast. Everyone was given their own 6 foot table. We demo'd everything from Vinyl, to Shrinky Dink material. Tons of door prizes and food. Already planning the next one. Everyone was very interested in a 3 day retreat as well as doing 3 or 4 of these a year. Guess I had better get busy. Sorry all of the ladies aren't in our group picture. I kinda got sidetracked and forgot about the picture till the end. Next time. Have a great evening.

Cricut© takes center stage at Houston swarm event
Dozens gather for demonstrations, camaraderie, capturing memories

HOUSTON (Sept. 12, 2009) – Twenty seven women from across two states came together today for a 12-hour scrapbooking retreat at the Westador Clubhouse in Houston. The event was hosted by the Cricut Lady Lori Brodnax, who provided demonstrations, food and fun for all while attendees shared best practices for page layouts, Cricut applications and card designs.
“Today’s Cricut swarm was so inspiring,” said Danielle Percy from Austin. “I learned several innovative techniques that are bringing a whole new level of creativity to my projects.”
Demonstrations included methods for using gel pins in the Cricut, application of heat bond on fabrics for making boxes and purse bags, shrinkie-dink jewelry creation and Design Studio tutorials for constructing advanced embellishments.
The relaxed atmosphere combined with plenty of pictures and paper to go around led all participants to agree that the event was a success worth repeating on an annual basis.
“I’d certainly attend this swarm again next year,” said Debbie Field, a new Cricut user. “I learned so much and can’t believe how many pages I was able to finish today!”
The Cricuit Lady is already planning her next event, which will likely be a two-day retreat in Round Top, Texas, in the spring.

The SWARM

Well, it was a blast. We had 27 people total. I of course got nothing done. I really had a blast though. Learned a couple great tips and tricks. Thank you to Tereas for the gel pen one. I'm shopping tomorrow. We did demos on stamp material, magnet material, vinyl, heat and bond, shinky dink(Teresa) and more. Learned a great card, got to see some great pages, projects and met some fantastic women. I have to tell you craftjunkietoo is awesome (not that everyone wasn't) but I was really excited about meeting her since I'm alwasy on her blog. Everyone won at least one door prize. Several people won multiples.
Anyway, it was great. Everyone is looking forward to the next one. Looking into planning a weekend retreat now. 3 days of Scrapping!!!!
Still haven't figured out the picture loading on here but i will.
Have a great night.

The Cricut Lady Blog

Hello everyone!! I'm so excited to get this blog off the ground and finally running. I will be posting some videos in the next couple days to show you some of the projects that I'm going to be doing at the Houston, TX SWARM this Weekend. I've even made it official and changed my Cricut.com name to The Cricut Lady. Since everyone already calls me that it was just easier. I was at Joanne's the other day and some lady was looking at some cartridges and I was able to help her and she asked "Are you like The Cricut Lady or something?" At CHA this year here in Houston I was helping Cricut Dan and a few of the ladies started calling me The Cricut Lady. So I figured what the heck, I'll go with it.
I'm also going to be teaching some Cricut classes soon, so stay tuned for details.
I'll try to post a video later.
Have a great day.
Lori
